Wedding at the Aberfoyle Mill

Bagpiper escorting bride up the aisle

It seems as though every time a heat warning has been in effect, I’ve had a gig to play. Outdoors of course.

This wedding was no exception. Luckily the breeze coming off the water had a slight cooling effect.

The wedding was hosted at The Aberfoyle Mill, on a small island at the back of the property. I played as guests arrived and then had the honour of piping for the wedding party as they made their entrance. I even escorted the bride down the aisle.

The bride and groom requested non-traditional tunes for their service, including the tune “500 Miles” made famous by The Proclaimers. It was refreshing to play different tunes for this wonderful couple.

All the best to the newlywed couple! Slàinte Mhath!
