Last summer, Emily and I spent a couple weeks touring Scotland. One of the most memorable times we had was spent with family in the Hebrides. The Hebrides are the islands on the western side of Scotland and Mingulay is one of these islands. When looking at the map of Scotland, it appears that this island is the most western part of the country.
The lyrics of this week’s #TuneTuesday talk about sailing towards this island. It is said that the fisherman returning from the Atlantic ocean knew they were getting close to home when they saw Mingulay.
“Mingulay Boat Song” is another tune option I recommend for a wedding processional.
