This week’s #TuneTuesday “Farewell to Whisky” was said to be written the year that there was a national grain shortage in Scotland and the distilleries were banned from ‘wasting’ barley for whisky making. Although not a tune written by Robbie Burns, I started using this tune to pipe out the haggis last year when I came across the fact that many regimental pipers use it for this same purpose.
