For this week’s #TuneTuesday, we decided to do something a bit different by introducing the small pipes. Similar to the great highland bagpipes, small pipes only have nine notes and the chanter is continuous, meaning you rely on grace notes to distinguish between notes. The unique feature is, of course, the drones protruding to the side, rather than the top, of the bag.
The tune is “Mist Covered Mountains.”
The artwork you see behind Andrew and in this post’s header is by Scottish watercolourist Peter McDermott. It depicts a mist covered mountain range on the Isle of Skye.
Enjoy and stay “tuned” for next week’s #TuneTuesday!
