#TuneTuesday | The Blue Cloud

Statue of Liberty Against Blue Cloudy Sky

This tune was on one of the first bagpiping albums I ever owned – Simon Fraser University Pipe Band’s “Live at Carnegie Hall.” The Canadian band recorded the album during a concert at the famed New York City music hall in 1997.

The tune, “The Blue Cloud,” was performed by band member Stuart Liddell who has gone on to become one of the top solo pipers in the world. He is currently the Pipe Major of the Inveraray & District Pipe Band, one of the top pipe bands to watch this year.

“The Blue Cloud” is a jig written by Adam Quinn.

Enjoy and stay “tuned” for next week’s #TuneTuesday!
